Re: [T3] Suspension fixed was rotted needle bearings

Yeah, the arm may need machining
and sleeving from a machine shop
to make it good again unless there
is an alternative. I have sleeved
worn parts before, it is worth it.
Arms can be machined down and sleeved.
The right size bearing-bushings can be
manufactured, together with thrust
bushing.
First thing is to look up cost.

I have found the cost of under 2.00
for manufactured high pressure
plastic bushings. I got a formal
quote today from one company,
others are pending. I will list
the cost per piece versus
quantity.

Russ said he has a machine shop
co-worker that may be able to make
special brass bushings. I hope this
incorporates the thrust bearing too. I
will hold off on pushing the bushing
manufacturer until Russ contacts his
buddy to see if this is feasable.

I will find out the cost for remachining
and sleeving the arm and roller bearing
with correction sleeving, (the correct
size bearing is not available,
2mm bearing sleeve required). This
will be the premium repair with
added manufactured thrust bushing.
