$90 is toward the high end for a type 3 MC. There is no difference
between MT and AT MCs. The same MC is used for all years 67-
73, although you may need to replace a steel line in your 70.

Pull up the carpet and see if you find wetness near the base of the
gas pedal. Fluid there means either a leaking MC or a rusted
center line. Push the pedal while you're under there and see if you
can see or hear something squirt. If so, it is the center steel brake
line, which is a pain to install.

I rebuild the MCs and have all the tandem styles in stock. I
normally carry stainless steel center brake lines which I have
custom made for me, but I am currently out. I'll reorder a supply as
soon as someone needs one.

Unless you insist on new parts, this repair should not exceed
$100. From your symptoms, there is no reason to replace anything
other than the MC and/or the center brake line. This does not mean
that there could not also be caliper/rotor/rear cyl problems, too, but
your symptoms don't yet point in that direction.

I think your Porsche mechanic is used to charging Porsche prices.
