If you add another shim, you will take up any play between the flywheel, crank, and brg. but you will still have the play between the brg and the case. If this engine is just a temporary engine while you rebuild your other one, just put the 3-.36mm shims back in and run it. The worst that could happen is lower oil pressure, and maybe and oil leak at the rear seal. The damage is already done, and there is not much you cand do about it without a line bore.
