I can't speak for that specific product, but the old-school swamp coolers (aka Thermadors) are very popular among the old-car crowd here in AZ. They work fairly well if you're moving at a good clip and the humidity is below say 40%. They'd be useless in a midwest or northeastern summer, too wet. The attachment style varies from design to design, so you want to look closely at what you're buying to be sure it won't chew up your finish or scratch your door glass.
