What year is the car you are putting it in?
The 6V flywheel has 109 teeth, and is smaller than the 12v, 130 tooth
flywheel. The 1500 crank is the old style crank, and you will have trouble
finding a 12v/130 tooth flywheel to work with this crank. The only orginal
ones made were in the 1966 Karmann Ghia, and some Type 2's.
You can have a 12v one machined to work with this crank. The lip that hold
the O'ring into the 12v flywheel can be machined to the diameter of main
bearing journal.
The thing is, you should look at the 1500 engine, and see if it has an old
style crank, or a new style. if it has been replaced, and is a new style,
you are all set.
You can't just put a 6v starter into a 12v car. the starter shafts are
different sizes. the 6v is bigger in diameter.
