Marvin, Four lug disc can be modified for 5x130 pattern (Porsche) but 5x205 (wide 5) will not fit on the rotor. I have seen wide five disc brakes for type1&2 but not for type3. 65 type3 had wide five drum brakes. If the wheels you want to use are wide five, you could put 65 drums and back plates on your car (mine had these on the rear when I got it) or use wheel adapters on the four lug brakes. If you will be using Porsche pattern, you can modify the four lug brakes. There are kits out there for rear discs for beetles, and they will work on IRS type3 (I'm not sure about swing axle type3 but I would assume so) except the e-brake situation needs a little modifying. I think there are front and rear disc kits in Germany (Kerscher?). I just finished (last month) modifying my front disc brakes for Porsche pattern, and installing CB Performance rear disc brakes (beetle) with Porsche pattern. Everything is very nice now, and the 2000 Boxster 16x7 wheels look great. I am not an expert in any of this, but I did the work myself with some added advice from Tom (DrSoWatt). I hope this gives you a little help. Brian Schlepp 69 Fasty ------------------------------------------------------------------- Too much? Digest! mailto:type3-d-request@vwtype3.org Subj=subscribe
