I had this happen to me, Unfortunately for me I had to get the engine out and I stripped it down, and found an excellant mechanic who charged me £48.00 (about $90). While he was there I had him check the crankshaft and re - hone the barrels for me and the engine runs fine now (Stock 1600 with carbs).
