I also have wonderful experience with Michelin XZX tyres. I had them on my 1970 VW Type 36 1600L Variant for over 100,000km (or 62,000 miles) of superb service on 15 inch rims and were still not worn out when I sold the car. I also had them on my 1973 VW Type 2 1600 Transporter which took me over 460,000km (or 287,000 miles) on 14 inch rims with each tyre giving me at least 80,000km (50,000 miles) and this involved travel across four continents including twice across the Sahara Desert. They were all tubed type tyres which mean't I was able to repair punctures a the roadside. Tubeless tyres can be a real hassle to remove from the rim at the roadside.
