I have come across a center console for the AT T3 and it is different - 1970s looking, made in Italy (same as the ones I've seen for the MT). There's a picture of it (and an MT one) at The Samba under Type 3/Pictures/Accessories. Campbell http://www.antique-shop.com/vwt3 -----Original Message----- From: Jaranson, John (J.W.) Yeah, the shifters (AT vs MT) are in the same location, but the base unit (with the PRNDL in it) for the automatic is considerably larger. It is maybe 4 inches wide by 8 inches long. The "throw" of the shifter is also greater on the automatic, I believe.
