Hello Simon, Looks like Dave and Gary have come up with answers you were looking for. It would be shame if Day Mouldings no longer produced the wings (for the type 3 or 4) as I agree with the people on this list that the quality is second to none. The fiberglass is generally 15mm thick so they are pretty sturdy with an extremely well finished gel coat too. If the Day Mouldings moulds are still in existence it would be worth getting hold of them if available. Maybe we could club together to buy them? or though as Dave points out storage might be a problem. I'd be interested to know what the score is. cheers, Dan '73 Fastback ---- -----Original Message----- From: Dave Hall [mailto:dave@hallvw.clara.co.uk] Sent: 27 June 2001 21:08 To: type3@vwtype3.org Subject: Re: "Day Mouldings" Wings > Do you or anyone else on the List know where these > "Day Mouldings" wings were made and were they also made for Type 3s? He has quite recently stopped doing the Type 3 wings - probably stopped the Type 4 ones a long time ago! I would guess the moulds are now gone too, but I could ask. Trouble is, where would I keep them if they were still existing and available? I have a new Left-hand one (Marina blue) and am looking after a good Right-hand one in Pastel white for another guy. They're both available! Dave.
