Jim/Tommy/Phil and all, Thanks to all you replied to the above message. I've been off sick and haven't had a chance to thank you all. I put them on a "working" car. Pumped the brakes, got them a apart, cleaned them up. Replaced the rubbish and put them on my '69. I know '72 brakes on a '69 is just not ethical but they are only on as the discs were really bad (read thin) and I'm a bit short on funds to buy new ones. Interesting to note though, I also found the source of my "shuddering brakes". Lower ball joint completely RS and I'm not talking Rallye Sport either. There must have been about 1/3 of an inch movement in it. No wonder braking was an effort. Tommy, in the end they weren't pitted but they were full of muddy brake dust. The dust covers etc were all replaced and new pads are next to be added. Jim, thanks for the offer. But Wisconsin is a little too far from Sydney, Oz. Again. Thanks and you guys keep up the good work. Jim Wrote: > > If they have been in use recently, I can probably get them apart and > rebuild them.
