[T3] This Years VW Classic

As many of you know, today was the VW Classic here in sunny SoCal, and man
was it sunny. Since no one has done so already I thought I would say how
impressed I was at the amount of T3s there. I got there early in my Sahara
Beige 73 Square (all nice and polished, enhancing the ...rust...) and found
only one other squareback and proceeded to get really bummed, but also
excited by the fact that I could have a chance at winning something.
However, by around 10:00 AM there was a formidable amount of T3s in the row.
Notches, suprisingly, held the highest numbers taking up all of their
alloted row. Squares came in second place, which was cool in itself, and
Fastys had a fairly dissapointing showing. There were only about 5 or 6 of
them. There were also a bunch of 34 Ghias, about as many as the Fastys.
Lightsiders definately won in the battle for dominancy of T3 presence.
There were a lot more stockers (or pretty close to it) then there were
tricked out and slammed T3s.

Some of the cool T3s I saw:
Lee Hedge's 34 Ghia Cabriolet
A convertible Fasty
A notch with an alien in the rear window and a huge engine.
A beautiful black Squareback (68 I believe)
And an awesome unrestored Notch that was in great shape.

There was also an old Listee whom I met that is going to write a book about
T3s and their history. That should be interesting. I look foward to it.

I hope any of you that didnt make it this year will be able to go next year.
I was very impressed (was my first year).
