Oh no. It all depends upon the market in the area. You can't ask someone in California what they should sell the car for in Japan (unless they know the market really well). I've seen many, many VW's just simply over-priced. Around $2000 in this area sounds okay based on the little information given. Without inspecting it, it's hard to say for sure. Do you know the car's history? Do you have all the receipts for work done? Why is it being sold? What special/custom additions have been done? Etc. Furnish details! Provide pictures (and not just different angles of the same side, one image per side is fine). Just suggestions to help out and keep the repetitive questions down. Details! You can go the route of asking for a high amount and just keep reducing the price each month it doesn't sell.
