Yes, I believe they are available and sounds like you could use a 
new one.

There are 2 springs in the type 3 FI engine which look similar. One 
is for the flaps and the other is the throttle return spring. Make sure 
that the loop on the forward end of the spring you are using here 
looks like it fits well. The throttle return spring is stiffer.

The thermostat is pretty strong, but there's no point in putting the 
wrong spring in there.
