Anybody who has been on this list for a while knows the saga of my fuel system problem. I have a 72 control unit ["brain"] and a 72 throttle valve switch [TVS] and a tampered 71 manifold pressure sensor [MPS] and a 71 distributor in the car. In my parts closet I have a 71 brain and wiring harness, a 71 TVS, a virgin 71 and 72 MPS. The car ran reasonable well with this set up until suddenly it started flooding out about 15 seconds after starting. I was planing to make it a complete 71 system but upon inspection the wiring harness looks like it has been monkeyed with by an idiot. I was procrastinating on fixing this since my backup car is running fine. Sadly it got toed (more on this in another post) and now I'm attacking the problem. I went in this morning and started it. It seemed healed. I haven't taken it on the road yet. At idle the rpms seem to be oscillating as if it is trying to seek an idle speed and is overshooting. The valves, dwell, timing and fuel pressure have recently been set to the correct values. If I put in the 72 MPS it will be correct except for the distributor. Will it run reasonably well with this setup?
