Despite what people say, im going with a low compression 2276 (82x94) the wheels are already in motion, the case im going with is a type 1 case, but im using the type 3 cooling arrangement, but like i said im keeping the compression ratio a little on the low side (if too low, ill fix that), so im going with a very mild cam and cb heads and a welded fan (just in case, since ive heard all the stories about fans disintigrating). I know im a little crazy but i think this might work even though im battling the vegas heat Just throw this one out as well----- I had a stock motor rebuilt a few years back from a local Vdub shop (wont throw out any names) and this was THE hottest stock motor u have seen!! My car redeemed the name Auchawitz wagon since when inside it, u could feel your skin sizzle, and actually see the heat radiating from under the car along with smoke (oil drips on the heat exchangers), amazingly this car never gave up, put an estimated 60000 miles on the thing, and only adjusted the valves for the first year (after that i wasnt expecting much more out of it) but it never gave up, i ended up retiring it on my own. On a seperate note, whats the best method of getting the axle nuts off?? Im used to an air compressor and an impact, but i dont have those commotities any longer....... i was pricing name brand 3/4 inch drive breaker bars, and they look pricey (around 80 clams) and garage secrets besides that hammer thing??
