RE: [T3] Head temp sensor

The sensor is basically a variable resistor-- changes resistance with
changes in cyl head temp. The resistance generally decreases with
increasing temperature. At 50F, resistance should be 3k to 4.5k ohm. At
68F, resistance is ~2k to 3.2k ohm. At 104F, resistance is ~1k to 1.4k ohm.

You can measure resistance with the sensor installed on the engine. There
should be an in-line spade-type connector for the single wire that runs to
the sensor. Unplug this, put one lead of the VOM on the wire that goes to
the sensor, and the other VOM lead to ground (the little ground bolt on the
generator is a convenient spot).
