This sounds like an effort to make white parking lights (amber are illegal in
Europe) in the stock fashion. I have never seen or heard of lights in this
manner though. And drilling a hole for the bulb would ruin the light I guess.
(This is often done to non-Euro-spec US-brand cars that are imported to
Norway, but they usually use a 9004 bulb)

It is a bit strange, as normally only US and Canada use sealed beams, and you
drive on right side (both right and right :-) as we do on mainland Europe.
Afaik sealed beams were never needed in UK, so why these headlights are on
this car seems strange to me. Would be easier to get two used headlights from
a Bug or T3 if you ask me.
