If the cold start valve is wired properly, it is not activated until it is
below 40 degrees F.
Truthfully, I always disconnect the cold start on all of my T-3's. And I
live in the upper mid-west.
Try turning the key off and on a couple times before you hit the starter.
This will build pressure in the fuel loop. What it sounds like, is that you
are leaking down fuel pressure while the car sits for a while. Get a fuel
pressure gage, and connect it as shown in the Bentley. Have someone turn the
key off and on a few times, and watch the fuel pressure. With the key off,
watch and see how far the pressure drops. It should stay about 20psi for
quite a while. If not, you have something that is leaking pressure. It could
be the check valve in the pump, or an injector leaking, or a cold start
valve leaking.
