In 67 and 68 the VRs have ALL the connections made by push-on 
connectors, but in 69 the D+ connection (to the generator output) 
changed to a bolted connection.

Only the late style is available as a replacement, but this sometimes 
comes with a push-on adaptor for the early cars.

Beetles used the same VR as type 3s in the same years.
