Actually the Ford switched is spec'd to open on 30 mph front and rear impacts and 20 mph side impacts. It is required to NOT trip when throwing the spare tire into the trunk, during a 5 mph front bumper impact, during a drive at top RPM in 2nd gear over cobblestone roads, sine wave road, and railroad crossings, dropping 11 lbs from 27" into the trunk, slamming the doors, etc, etc,etc..... I am not aware of any recalls or significant warrantee claims due to the fuel cut-off switch. "Normal" driving should never cause the switch to trip.
