Jonathon, I would look to the back side of the ignition switch/turn signal assembly to see if the clamp is still attached to that unit as they have a tendency to break off there. As far as fixing the other part that you know is broken you just need to get an 8 mm nut to replace it. If you took it apart you'd see that there isn't much to it. Hope this helps.
