You wanted to do the heads anyway, right? Unclog the vent drains, check the brake system carefully, change the oil and fuel filter, and drive it home. You sound careful and well prepared. You may want some new wiper blades, stuff like that. Drive the hot stretches at night, and don't push it too hard up the passes -- like a Type 2. If the tires and brakes are good, I expect you'll be fine.
