Yes, I think it's called 'gassing' when you just press the accelerator a bit as you change (quite useful for smooth changes). Double de-clutching does need the clutch engaged and tranny in neutral while the throttle is blipped to speed up the gears to mesh smoothly as you select the gear. It's a very satisfying way of changing as you blast round a hairpin on a steep hill. Useful in worn gearboxes for any gear, and pre-61 Beetle and Buses for going into 1st on the move. Without the throttle blip it can help gear changing in cold weather. I guess Tå sI forgot to write out that line. Dave.
