What pressure sticker have you got on the water bottle support panel?  The
tops can be interchanged anyway, but leave your spare rather low on
pressure if you are fully laden.
Maybe by 1973 they fitted whatever they had available.  I've seen a '73
with no insulation on the heat exchangers.
