Just one caveat: You should be careful not to add too many extra bulb 
loads to that circuit. The rheostat that is built into the light 
switch is only carrying the load of a certain number of bulbs. If you 
add too much load to that circuit, the rheostat will overheat and 
burn open. This takes about .2 seconds and leaves you with only full 
bright available.

If you want to add several bulbs, you can help by choosing low 
wattage bulbs. These also have the advantage of having longer 
lifetimes.

BTW, this is only a problem when the rheostat is turned down just a 
tiny bit from full bright. At full bright there is no draw through 
the rheostat, and at 1/4 down or more the rheostat limits the current 
itself to a small enough value that no harm will come to it.
