I'm with Per that these retaining bolts are not necessary, and are potentially a PITA. The late bus has a similar setup, and I rarely find a bus that still has them. OTOH, I found three or four of them on my basement floor yesterday, if anyone is interested. Also, regarding drum removal, I'm looking forward to trying Jim's "tink" technique with the propane torch, as in the past I have been seen swinging away with a sledge hammer (with no apparent damage to the drums, BTW, though I think that prudence dictates that one replace the drums when this 'method' is used).
