I was thinking in terms of base induction ports and not exact physical appearance. The mouth is one intake, the nose is another (semi-restricted) intake -- the nostrils lead into one intake chamber, the sinus. The septum acts as a venturi to the Nose intake if that will help make my -- ha! -- argument more valid.
