My car came to me with a Bosch 009, which works all right, but I've been wanting to try a stock distributor in hopes of a little better performance in the mountains. Two manuals tell me I need a 311 905 205D or E unit. From different sources I've accumulated a couple of 113 905 205Ms, which are short-bodied and have T3-style short caps and rotors. These numbers seem too similar to be just coincidence, but what do I know? Can anyone tell me if these are essentially the same as the stock unit, or what I might expect from them? I don't want to just crank one in there and see what happens ....
