Re: Too many questions


Well, there isn't an official protocol for this list, as far as I know;
but as a general rule, I think the general idea is to use the list after
your other resources have failed you  This means first checking your
books (your Muir [the "Idiot" book] and your Bentley), then the archives
of this list and, if not type3 specific, the type2 search engine
(http://vw.i405.com, which allows you to search the vintagebus, type2,
and vanagon lists simultaneously -- a massive and extremely valuable
resource).  Then, any questions that remain will be more refined.

I was recently chided for posting an ad to the list, which practice I
defended at the time.  I still think there is a place for ads on the
list; but agree that the one I posted was, in fact, inappropriate,
showing a lack of "condensation," inasmuch as it was for an item that
was NOT a type3 only item, and was not specialized enough to be expected
to be of PARTICULAR note.
