Well, there isn't an official protocol for this list, as far as I know; but as a general rule, I think the general idea is to use the list after your other resources have failed you This means first checking your books (your Muir [the "Idiot" book] and your Bentley), then the archives of this list and, if not type3 specific, the type2 search engine (http://vw.i405.com, which allows you to search the vintagebus, type2, and vanagon lists simultaneously -- a massive and extremely valuable resource). Then, any questions that remain will be more refined. I was recently chided for posting an ad to the list, which practice I defended at the time. I still think there is a place for ads on the list; but agree that the one I posted was, in fact, inappropriate, showing a lack of "condensation," inasmuch as it was for an item that was NOT a type3 only item, and was not specialized enough to be expected to be of PARTICULAR note. I hope this posting is appropriate. ; ) Eric Forsman, '73 Square Baltimore, MD ------------------------------------------------------------------- Unsubscribe? mailto:type3-request@vwtype3.org, Subject: unsubscribe
