I dont trust my oil sensor. Checked my oil today and it was remarkably low - basically indicating gone. Granted, I'd just been driving and the car smelled hot. I was checking the oil mostly just to check the temp. of the dipstick and see if any smoke was coming out. (temp was fine by the way. I'll just never get this car tuned up right with these damn baffling Webers and my own lack of experience. ) Anyway. My oil light comes on at startup and immediately goes out as it should. I just cant help but think it should be on when the oil level is this low. The engine must have to be bone dry before it goes on otherwise. Is there any way to test the sensor? Finally, when I checked the oil this am before all this happened, it was at midpoint. I did some heavy driving today, but should the oil be dropping like this? I've been checking it everyday in the morning and the level has consistently beenlÁñ ver since I changed it in October.
