Dang, seems like a lot of people have done this. I did it to my first car, a '78 VW Scirocco. The exact stupidity is hazy but I think I put it on jack stands in my parents sloped driveway, opened the driver's door and took the ebrake off. It rolled off the jack stands, and the driver's door edge caught on the stop sign at the bottom of our driveway (we lived on a corner). I pulled the ebrake as fast as I could but it bent the door hinge. Repair cost was $50 at the local body shop, luckily no body damage was done. I was a good boy and traded the Scirocco for a '67 Squareback. :) Bye, Everett Barnes - Phoenix, AZ everettb@prodigy.net http://thesamba.com/vw >> > Well I wasnt watching what i >> > was doing and I caught the edge of the door on a tree root and then >folded >> > it ways that only russian gymnasts are suposto bend.
