Hey all. I recently meet up with some folks at the Gorge VW club here in Oregon. One of the guys has a Type 3 Ghia for sale. Here's the scoop: I'd like to buy this car, but it's missing a few things. He has had trouble selling the car whole, and decided to part it out. It was complete when he bought it. I'd like to buy it before he sells more stuff from it. It is a 66 model (if I remember correctly) and has been converted (I'm not sure how well) to IRS. So far he has sold the motor, the passenger side window, a switch (I don't know which one), and the engine lid script. I'd like to buy it, providing it is in decent shape. I haven't seen it in person, but I'm going to look at it this weekend, after I get ahold of him. Anyway, here are two questions: 1. How much is it worth, providing it's rust free, or only surface rust, and mostly complete? 2. How difficult would it be to get a passenger window? I don't think I've seen many of these for sale. The other stuff, like the script, I can get from Bill and Steves or elsewhere. TIA. I've always wanted one of these beautiful cars.
