Unless your '73 doors are radically different than my '71, there's
holes in the door at the bottom, you probably can't see them because
the rubber seal is blocking your view.  I just stripped mine down to
bare metal this last summer, so I know.  Check the corners under the
rubber.  The scrapers do keep the worst of the water and snow out, but
can't stop it all.  Clean those holes out and your water problems will
go away.  What happened on mine was the tar board inside let loose and
chunks of it blocked the holes.  I guess it was used for noise
dampening.
