Re: clock removal


I haven't seen that ad.

I removed the back plate to give access to
the main shaft.  A simple quartz movement can be linked to that with
a ball-point tube.  You would get a more robust drive by soldering a
T-bar across the end of the shaft.  There's a bit of ingenuity to
use this way.  I haven't found a really small movement that fits
back in the cover, so it's a bit of a lash up.  When I found another
clock and got that working normally, I swapped them round.


I did try tentatively to remove the hands, but they weren't giving
up easily, so I did, and used the back door!
