Im no mechanic but i agreee overamping is always a no-no. Perhaps you have a bare wire shorting to ground or a corroded connection. I had a tailight bulb socket that was corroded and it blew the fuse a few times. overamping could cause you to fry an important device or bulb or worse, start a fire.
