Anyone remember Esso Golden Extra? 101 Octane (maybe different rating system than these days). That's about all our '64 Variant 1500S (Squareback) would run on. Don't forget, on these engines you have to remove a plug lead to time correctly with the engine running, as the advance curve begins below normal tick-over. Dave.
