That sounds like the professional version of what I found on my Variant (Squareback) from the PO. He fitted a pipe from a T on the pressure switch, through a 356 Porsche filter unit (big silver job), through the rear panel and to and fro inside the rear bumper to cool it a bit, then back through a small hole in the plastic breather cap. I don't know if it worked; I returned it to stock. I'm still waiting for the rest of the 356 to appear, though! Dave.
