RE: [T3] external oil filter idea!

That's what they do (to the beast of my knowledge) to hi-po dune-buggy type
T1's. I have no idea what the difference or application would be for ours.

	Hey!
I just got a bright idea! (but probably it«s not a very good one, or
it is
good, and therefore already tried out - I«m ending up inventing the
wheel
once again... in that case: my apologies!)
This just came to my mind:
Instead of using the oil pump cover for plumbing out oil and tapping
the oil
galley for returning oil to the engine - why don«t use the stock oil
coolers
	attaching point on the crankcase?
If I remember it correctly, there is a 90 degree alloy joint adapter
between
the case and the oil cooler. What if that little piece could be
modified (or
replaced with a aftermarket adapter, if those exists) so that the
oil flow
would be tapped off where it cames up from the oil galley, out via
some
pipes or hoses trough a external filter, and back to the adapter to
its
	regular way into the cooler?

	Benefits:
	1. Regulated oil pressure on the pipes and filter, as the oil has
already
passed the regulation valve - less risk for leaks, hose blow, and no
HP1
filter needed - std filters will do OK.
	2. No grinding and messing in the rear of the engine.
	3. Better possibilitys to place the filter bracket in a easy
accessible
	position.

Can«t think of any drawbacks right now (- optimistic fool, as I am
;-) )

	What do you think, people?

(Sorry if this already have been discussed on the list - haven«t
made any
	searching on the older threads)
