Hi Donovan! I really cant see the point in tossing out the FI for a set of carbs. Not if your goal is to cut down on your troubleshooting.... Try to do a step-by-step fault elimination process on your existing D-jet installation instead. It«s really not so complicated to understand these FI-systems as it may seems. A type 4 freak named Tommy has a good website going. Especially the section "Problems" - follow this link: http://www.concentric.net/~tommymi/412/problems/index.htm, - there is a great manual in there, about the D-jet and L-jet FI systems, to print and carefully read. Another good source for FI info and troubleshooting aid, is "Kjell Nelin's D-Jet Diagnostics" on this link: http://www.914fan.net/djet.html He is a Porsche 914 fan, but the D-jet system should have the same construction and behavior as on our beloved T3-s. Well worth reading! After reading these two manuals, you should have a pretty good understanding of your FI. Now get to the shop and buy a fuel pressure meter, a Ohm/voltage multimeter, and a few feet of high quality fuel hose. Now your ready to "get at the bitch"! Good luck!
