Okay, the engine is still running poorly as per my previous email message (any replies regarding that question would be greatly appeciated! :-) Now, though, I'm having problems with my generator/voltage regulator. Seems that the brushes in the generator are nearing the end of their productive lives...sometimes when I'm driving the car the generator light will go on...if I go back to the engine and apply a small amount of pressure to the one cisible brush the Generator light goes off...but then, when I shut off the car, the Generator light comes back on when I turn the ignition switch to OFF. If I turn the ig. switch back to ON the Oil light comes on and the Generator light goes off...back to the OFF position and the Generator light comes back on and the Oil light goes off. To prevent draining my battery I disconnected the + lead at the voltage regulator. >From what I remember, Muir says this indicates a faulty voltage regulator...but because of the generator brush problem I'm wondering if that might be the cause...any ideas, oh electrical gurus? Could this possible be causing my engine to run rough at high RPMs?
