The stock speedo cable for your car is 1167mm long (part# 141 957 801C) , I couldn't get it from the local parts store,...,. So i got a 58-74 standard beetle a cable (p# 111 957 801J) which is only about 70mm too long, and seemed to work. but... I recently changed speedo's from one w/out working odometer to one w/ working odometer.... I think the angle of the cable into the speedo wasn't as straight as it could of been and the "new" speedo blew out in less than a hundred miles....... luckly i still have a working speedo w/out odometer and now the broken one is parts to to fix the odometer on the first. Has anybody else had a similar experience with bug cables blowing out speedos? ned 69' square
