I think a healthy pump draws about 4 amps, but at any rate I'm pretty 
sure it is never over 8 A.  The fuse is 16 A.

You could try for a used one.  I find that the used ones are fine 
unless they have been dry for a long time.  Sitting full of gas is 
the best thing for them.
