Road testing the five-speed

Well, with the five-speed my highway mileage just increased 2mpg! I'm now
at
19mpg highway, woo-hoo! Cruising at 75-80 is just like driving 35 in town
(i.e.
no problemo!) and with my ignition and big engine I can *still* accelerate
and
pass people in fifth if I choose. Because of the intermittent carb problem
I
haven't found my top end but I was able to get to 90mph. The only problem
is
finding enough road without traffic since getting to the higher speeds does
take
some time :) With the proper gearing I don't quite have the overheating
problems like before -- it's still there, but not as bad.
