Old Brakes. Notch won't start.

Subject: Old Brakes.  Notch won't start.

Got alot done today,
Put kits in the carbs on my '65 Notch
And got it running.  Well with starting fluid it starts.
I drove it a few blocks using emergency handle to stop.
Got home turned it off.  Won't start without starting fluid.
What's up with that?  After it runs, it runs okay.
Won't start on it's own.
Finally figured out how that silly plate under the shifter goes.
No more scratching reverse when searching for second.
Put fluid in the 12 year empty brakes.
got the air out of the master cylinder.
Pedal still doesn't feel any better.
I cannot loosen any of the bleeders.
How do you do this?
I joined Notchback Owners of North America today.
Put the Club Sticker in my back window.
I will now attempt to build a car around it.
