Someone might have mentioned this before, but I just saw a late model red Squareback in a Compaq computer ad. A middle aged couple are sending their son off to collage. They are loading gear in the back, and telling him how they will miss him etc. Then there is a shot of the car driving off. In the next scene they are measuring his room to see if they can put in a hot tub!
