When I turned off the square after an hour > of running, it had no power again A generator puts out nothing of use at idle, so letting the car idle for an hour just ran down the battery. Any lead/acid battery loses charge in storage and it can be hard to restore. Put a charger on it. Do NOT put it on the "fast" or "quick" or "high" setting; you want a trickle of current for several days. If the battery has removable cell caps, make sure the water is up to the correct level in each cell; top up with distilled water if they are low. Don't get in a hurry. If you are in a hurry, buy a new battery, or use one that has not been allowed to run down for months.
