But there's no URL in the signature or no entry in the Scrapbook in the VWTYPE3.ORG site. Could I ask a favor of all you volks? Would you please include an URL in your signature that contains pictures/info of your ride(s), or at least make it a point get your ride in the scrapbook? Please? I know there are many nice rides, both stock and cool...er, I mean, custom :), that I haven't seen (Bri, yours is one of 'em!). You will notice I always have the URL to my web page in my signature and in the Scrapbook section it links to my web page (saves space for those who don't have their own web page). I'm proud of my ride and you volks are the only ones who can appreciate it (or at least know how un-stock it really is! :) Since this list is world wide I won't be able to personally visit everyone and see their T3 so the web is the next best thing. I will scan photos/drawings/images for those who want the media in electronic format and email back. All that I ask is if you want the photos/drawings/images back that you would include a SASE (Self-Addressed Stamped Envelope). Greg, maybe you might want to add a little blurb to the Scrapbook page explicitly saying you and I are willing to perform this service. New tires! In fact, buy a second set of expensive, sticky tires already mounted on lighter rims that you use strictly for auto-xing. 2. Anti-sway bar up front and stiffer springs in the rear. Naturally, and IRS suspension is preferred over the swing-axle because of over-camber in turns. If you were to put a limited-slip differential (LSD) in the tranny then you would also use a stiff anti-sway bar in the rear. There are those who use the anti-sway bar in the rear anyway (without a LSD). 3. Lower the ride to lower the center of gravity. This would, of course, require stiffer shocks and possibly stiffer springs as well which would help handling in the corners. 4. Other: Increasing engine power would definitely be needed to keep up with the modern engines and/or regearing the tranny to make best use of the torque curve in gears 1, 2 and maybe 3 with the wheel combination used. Remember, the ultimate auto-xer would suck as a daily driver, heck, it'd probably suck every where but the track! Springs in our situation means torsion bars (same difference). I will, just for you, snap some shots of the Notch with its 3 years of dust on it and send you a URL. Remember, these things take time, cash, and a wife that will let me do this stuff s-l-o-w-l-y. I'm lookin' a 5g for the motor and FI alone (and it will fit under the deck lid)! The Notch did get rolled onto the parking pad today. It has completely changed colors because of dust. For guys like Jim...I am converting to 12v and it will be complete. I will have a 12v wiring harness, 12v wiper motor, 12 a/c and 12 gas heat. the question is...where should the semaphores go? The last time I drove around the block all the kick down stuff for the auto worked perfectly. This car is going to be some fun, if it ever gets finished.
