Re: [T3] (fwd) TYPE III BRAKE CALIPER HELP

The bleed nipple HAS to be on top (or they won't bleed) and must be
meant for the other side. Even with two nipples, they are handed.
The pads will wear unevenly unless the cut-away part of the piston
(where there should be a triangular shaped piece of metal called a
piston-retaining plate) is at the bottom. As long as they are
opposite in this respect, fit them so the single nipple is on the
top.

Sometimes confusion arises between late Type 3 and early Type 4
calipers; the Type 4 ones fit in front of the axle and the retaining
plate has to be at the top. If the one with a single nipple is
going to have the plate on top, it could be a Type 4 one.

I didn't realise some later calipers only had one nipple. You are
sure the spacing for the bolts is correct? (obviously OK if you've
fitted them!)
