This is the tearful story of a motor that's gone, gone, gone! The Squares I just bought were a great deal... until I decided to pull the motor out of the driver to check the end play. The gent had the short block built locally, but put the flywheel on himself. Needless to say, there were no shims and about .27 of end play. This combined with 300 miles of stop and go driving ruined the rebuild. Pulling the motor saved the heads, pistons and cylinders. However, I'm still out a case, new counterweighted crank. I'm writing this to remind people, don't cut corners!!!!!! The PO and myself will have a polite conversation to avoid a repeat of this in the future. This one error is going to run 5 c notes. An up side is that I still have lots of great parts to finish my Notch. Brian 65 Notch 2 67 Squares
